SustainYourAbility

Mindfulness Practices for the Modern Professional

SustainYourAbility is a practical, empowering training that enables you to become more concentrated and focused. The purpose? Increase your mental abilities to better tackle the challenges you face. SustainYourAbility enables you to more fully engage in your life and take charge of it. Here’s an invitation to learn the basics of mindfulness as it relates to work.

The Context:

Many of us experience the demands of our modern lifestyles as stressful, even to the point of being stressed out. We often are elsewhere in our minds, thinking about the things we should have done but did not get around to (past), or we dream about the things we would like to or have to do (future). As a result we miss out on the here and now. We are not fully present during a meeting when we check our emails or text messages. Neither are we really there for someone we care about who needs us when we worry about the things we have yet to do.

Our lives happen in the here and now, in the moment. The past is already gone and the future has not yet arrived.

The Training:

In SustainYourAbility we will practice basic mindfulness exercises that you can easily integrate into your demanding life. You will learn to re-balance yourself by being more fully alive in the present moment. You will learn to employ mindfulness exercises as an effective tool to help you love your life more, a tool that will give you the power to live your life to its full potential.

For whom

SustainYourAbility is designed for leaders, managers, interims, employees, ZZPers, and other professionals who strive to grow through personal development.

What

SustainYourAbility is designed to enable you to

relax in stressful situations (presence)

focus on the tasks in front of you (attention)

be present for others and attentive to them (empathy)

How

The program uses traditional mindfulness practices that have stood the test of time as well as current scientific research. You will learn to recognize obstructive behavior patterns in your life and to let go of them, and to make better, purposeful choices. Instead of being stuck in old, fixed behavior patterns, you will learn to meet the world with open curiosity instead.

We will practice different awareness exercises such as presencing, perception of automatisms, observation of thoughts, feelings, and body awareness. There will also be some presentations, interactive group work, as well as time for personal reflection.

The training consists of one full day of on-site practices and interaction, two online follow-up sessions, and ongoing peer learning.
